Does bleaching/lightening/dying your hair harm your hair and scalp? What about natural salons?

I've heard that natural salons like Aveda salons use less harsh chemicals which may be safer for your head/hair, but do the usual products they use to highlight, bleach, and dye hair really harm it any,,..or are any more harmful than the more natural end products....or not really?

I'm asking because I'm a male and I already have sensitive hair and it's somewhat thinning in certain areas and weak, so I don't want to damage it, especially since I get my hair highlighted blonde alot, and they apply the product DIRECTLY onto my scalp.

does this really damage the hair and the hair follicle, and increase my chances of balding or having weaker hair, and a worse scalp?

I'm not sure what's safe, what isn't, and if I should stick with natural salons more.

Any advice?Does bleaching/lightening/dying your hair harm your hair and scalp? What about natural salons?
if you bleach or dye your hair it will damage it. doesnt matter if its using less chemicals or not, its still putting chemicals in it so its damaging it. if your going to dye it at all get it done prefessionallyDoes bleaching/lightening/dying your hair harm your hair and scalp? Bleaching will destroy your hair! Don't do that. Highlighting/lowlighting or dying will be actually healthy for your hair. Just do it professionally. Don't wash your hair the day you change your hair --- it'll be healthier and it'll stay in longer because the natural oils will help maintain the color.
You should just buzz your hair..It always looks good and you'll never look messy. And you'll look tougher. Esp if your hair is thinning, you might as well get used to buzzing it, I did.
I know chemicals usually damage the hair. The natural may still damage it but to a lesser extent i dunno.
