I WANT TO KNOW IF MY MOM WAS RIPPED OFF AT HER HAIR SALON?

My mother usually goes to this one salon that charges her 65 for a haircut,dye job, and to style it. Today she went in and her usual stylist was on maternity leave. So another person did it, but this time they charged her 85 just for a hair cut and a dye job. I just want to know if they are allowed to do that.I WANT TO KNOW IF MY MOM WAS RIPPED OFF AT HER HAIR SALON?
Usually every stylist rents their station and therefore can make their own prices. $85 is closer to what that would usually cost, at least where I live anyway. Prices are also usually determined by if you are doing half the head (like the top) or full (throughout the head) and hair length can determine price too. Depending on the experience of the person, some can be a ';Master Colorist'; and they charge more for their services because they have more experience.





If there is something wrong with the cut/color they should fix for free within a certain amount of days, other than that, no she didnt get ripped off. She actually got off pretty easy, I pay $60 just to get my hair cut!
yes they definitely are able to do that. Stylists have to pay rent in their salon and different stylists have different rent rates due to many factors so that might be a reason for the higher prices. When i get my hair done it usually costs me between 80-85 dollars and I get it colored and cut. I have been with the same stylist for about 5 years and when her rent was raised she raised her prices as well.
they are if each stylist is allowed to charge their own prices, i would call and ask if they have set prices or if they charge different for each stylist maybe due to experience. call and ask. if they have set rates for everyone, i would be asking for some money back!!!
well, most likely the stylist is independant and renting a space there. she can charge however much she wants. if this isnt the case, shes either ripping her off or the salon changed the prices.
probably not because the stylist are allowed to make their own prices she was a regular with the other stylist so that is probably what her going rate was and the sub has a different one
No. When hairstylists booth rent, They make there own prices. The hairstylist charged what she normally charges for all that.
sorry but i think she did get ripped off..but believe me my mom has done way worse! she once paid 115 bucks and her hair looked exactly the same....maybe they took advantage of your ma if she seems nice
yes a stylist can charge a higher rate depending on the salon she works at and hosnestly that sounds like a fair price I wouldn be to worried about it
The other stylist was probably giving her a deal because she knew her. Of course they're allowed to do that.
She was a regular with the pregnant stylist. The new one could charge the going rate.
yeah. jeeze that is pretty cheap- my highlights alone without a cut is 60. they can do whatever they want unless there is a set price- usaully things will say 40 and up or something like that/
na. i dont think so. you should go back and ask because thats too expensive. unless she did something different of course.
