Getting eyebrows waxed at salon for first time?

hi im 14 and i have this party to go to tommorow. usually i pluck my own eyebrows but i do a terrible job at it so i decded to let them gorw out a bit and now im getting them waxed at trade secret. i dont care about the cost but are there any tips u have before i go? like how to handle pain, before and after?Getting eyebrows waxed at salon for first time?
My sister first started getting hers waxed at 12. I got mine much later.hah


Just relaxed hold on to the chair. The first time hurts pretty bad but..its over in seconds and they usually put this cooling stuff on after.





Ive gotten mine waxed a million times and it is still a little painful...

i got mine waxed for the first time about a month ago, it didn't hurt a nearly as much as i thought it would. i was anticipating gut wrenching pain, but it didn't hurt any more than a pinch would. in my opinion, a pinch hurts more. the waxing on the bottom of the eyebrow hurts more, because its closer to the eye and more sensitive. the plucking hurts more than the waxing actually, so if you've been plucking enough, you should be all good :]

had the same problem. and recently went for my first time too. just close your eyes. they will usually tell you to do that anyway. if you can stand a rubber band flick, you can definitely stand the waxing. was surprised that it is less painful than that. i thought it would be painful but it wasn't. just don't touch it after and use only cold water. it will feel a little hot for awhile. that's all. and don't use any chemical products or even soap on it for at least a day.
it doesnt rele hurt, but u shouldnt get them waxed a day be4 u go to a party. do it like a week be4 because sometimes u can get lil bumps on ur forehead and around ur eyebrows. and sometime u can bleed, well, it depends how carefully the person does it.

OK i have three tips


- when you get in the chair- slouch. If you sit up straight it tenses your muscles and could be more painful.


-Breathe. If you hold your breath then your muscles are again more tense causing more pain.


-Either shut your eyes or focus on a spot in the room.





Just remember its quick and the pain wont last for long and if you start to worry about having it done...just think how great it will look after. Enjoy your party :)
well if the party is tommorrow, you want to make sure all the swelling is down by then. Waxing tends to leave red marks near your eyebrows until 24 hours after the actual waxing. But, you can reduce this time.


Get an aloe, or just a cooling lotion and blott it on the red area. Leave like this for 20 minutes then rub in. Now, massage a warm cloth over area. This worked for me and i hope it does for you too!
check into what salons use the numbing wax. It sounds weird, but you really dont feal anything with it. I only get mine done in places that use that because there is virtually no pain! i have a low pain tolerence and i react poorly to lets just say like novacane at the dentist but i didnt feel a thing. And after it was just a little bit red, but it didnt bother me
When i went to get my eyebrows waxed for the first time i thought on no its gonna hurt. But when i got in there and they did it it didn't bother me at all. You might think it will hurt but it really doesn't however you might jump whenever they rip it off. Oh and when they are done you are going to be red around there but thats it so no big deal.
Getting them waxed arnt so bad but if your sensitive like i am you might freak out %26amp; jump when they pull it off but once you get used to it youlll be fine im 15 so it only took me a year to get used to it %26amp; they should put creame stuff on you eye brows after words to help cool down the burn

It doesn't actually hurt that bad; it will sting a bit for a minute. Try counting down from 10 in your head; or ask the person doing it to do so out loud before they pull the strip. I think you'll do fine =)
I think the best way is to rub some Anbesol on the area before getting it waxed. It will numb the area, and it hurts much less. I used to do it all the time, and it works great!
It doesn't hurt, it's a slight sting for a moment, but then they put some type of 'lotion' (not sure what it is) and it calms it. They may be pink after but it goes away
If you're getting it waxed - it'll be quick.


The best thing is just sit there and endure it - not that there is a lot to endure.
honestly when i first got mine done i was 11...it did not hurt that much...it feels like you just pulling off a bandaid hahaha but you just go in you do not need to prep your brows...hope this helps.
Well for me it didn't really hurt that much. Just put some ice on it after to prevent it from swelling, since that can happen sometimes.
My only anwer is to be careful because you may overpluck and overwax your eyebrows until they won't grow back (and it would look very scary).

Just keep your eye's closed and remember to take slow even breaths. It only takes a few second and then it's over with. Plus it doesn't really hurt too much, only enough to make your eyes water.
The pain is quick, after about 10 seconds you won't feel it at all. My suggestion would be to go at least 6 hours before your party, some people experience redness after.
Before: you put on an ice pack


Middle: quess someones hand


After: ice it again!

Just relax! Its super quick; and not that painful. Go through some magazines or pictures online to pick out certain shaping styles of eyebrows. This should better your chance of getting a result you like !
Aww how cute! I remember when I was 14 and got my first eyebrow wax ummm I'd have to say, it doesn't really hurt just be prepared to have gorgeous eyebrows :)
